3D Quoting Tool for Builders in Northwest Argentina
By Facundo Campo, 3D quoting tool developer
In short: A 3D quoting tool lets a manufacturer in northwest Argentina quote farm buildings and prefab homes with its own rules, show each configuration in 3D, and answer inquiries from Tucumán, Salta, Jujuy and neighboring provinces without the owner working out every number.
A 3D quoting tool for a manufacturer in northwest Argentina (the NOA) is a web app where a grower, a family or a sales rep builds the farm building or home they need, sees it in 3D while choosing, and gets a quote calculated with the manufacturer's rules. In Tucumán, Salta and Jujuy, where sales follow the rhythm of the sugarcane harvest (zafra) and the crop seasons, that means answering fast, right when the customer has the money and the decision made.
Northwest farming and its buildings
Every crop in the NOA calls for a different building, and a local steel fabricator knows that better than anyone.
- Sugarcane. Buildings for harvesters, trailers and parts in the Tucumán foothills and in northern Salta and Jujuy. What matters is clear height and door width, because the machines are big.
- Tobacco. In the Lerma Valley and the valleys of Jujuy, growers need buildings to cure and store tobacco, with good airflow and walls designed for it.
- Lemons and citrus. Warehouses and canopies around Famaillá, Monteros or Tafí Viejo, close to the packing houses. Large covered areas with room for loading and unloading.
- Beans, grain and cattle. Storage buildings, input warehouses and canopies for livestock in eastern Salta and along the border with Santiago del Estero.
What they share is that the buyer knows exactly what needs to go inside, but doesn't always know how that turns into a structure. Seeing the building in 3D, spinning it around and walking through it at eye level while picturing the machine inside changes the conversation.
An example: a tobacco grower's canopy
A grower in Rosario de Lerma writes in: he wants a 12 × 24 m canopy to store bales, open on the sides so air moves through, with a side canopy to unload under cover. Today the owner of the shop has to ask three times what "open" means, sketch it and send the quote when he gets to it.
With a 3D quoting tool, the rep enters the dimensions, picks open or half-height walls, adds the side canopy with its width and drop, changes the sheeting color and sends a link. The grower looks at it on his phone at the farm, shares it with his son who runs the books, and if he asks "what if we make it 30?", everything recalculates on its own. You can try it today in the metal building configurator, without prices: pricing is part of each manufacturer's custom build.
To go deeper on the product, metal building 3D quoting tool covers the detail for fabricators, and agricultural building 3D configurator covers what changes when the customer is a farmer.
Prefab homes, from the city to the valleys
Housing is moving in the NOA too. Families in Yerba Buena, San Lorenzo in Salta or the new neighborhoods of San Salvador de Jujuy looking for a prefab or dry-construction home; people who want a weekend house in Tafí del Valle or Cafayate; small operators thinking about tourist lodging in the Quebrada de Humahuaca.
What that buyer asks most is how the house looks with their changes. The prefab home configurator has a floor plan editor where you drag, resize and add rooms, edit doors and windows, and add an upper floor with stairs. Then you pick a flat, single-slope or gable roof, brick, stone or wood finishes, flooring, a porch, a pool and a fence. For the heat of the Tucumán lowlands, a wide shaded porch is a selling point that makes more sense seen than read; for a house in the valleys, it's stone and wood.
A single company that builds both farm buildings and homes can have both in the same tool, each with its own rules and price table.
Why the NOA sells better with fast quotes
In the north, a lot of farm purchases get decided in short windows: when the harvest ends, when the zafra money comes in, when the grower has time to think about a project. If the quote takes a week, the window has closed or another shop got it.
A quoting tool helps in three ways:
- The rep quotes without calling the owner, because the rules and prices already live in the tool. I explain it in sales team autonomy.
- The inquiry arrives with the configuration built, so the rep knows what it's about before answering.
- The quote comes out in the same conversation, at the farm or at the shop, not days later. I wrote about that in the quote in the meeting.
And since a shop in Tucumán also sells to Catamarca, Santiago del Estero and Salta, a link that opens the exact configuration saves trips and misunderstandings.
Prices that move, and a manufacturer that manages them
Steel and sheeting prices change often. If every change means redoing the owner's spreadsheet, reps end up quoting with old numbers. In a custom build, the manufacturer gets its own editable price table: change the price per kilo of steel and every new quote uses it. You don't need a programmer for that.
How we work
I'm Facundo Campo, a software developer based in Quilmes, Buenos Aires. I design and build 3D quoting tools and configurators for manufacturers, and I work remotely with the whole country on the same clock. We start with a video call; you send me your catalog, photos of past jobs, sample quotes and your rules, and I send you links to try each step on a computer or phone. The only client I name is EQUIBOX, a horse stable manufacturer in Berazategui, because its system is live and you can see it in the EQUIBOX case study.
If you run a steel shop or a home builder in Tucumán, Salta or Jujuy, message me on WhatsApp at +54 9 11 6193-3176 or email facundocampo100@gmail.com. I answer in English and Spanish. Or see how custom 3D quoting software works.
Frequently asked questions
Can I load buildings designed specifically for tobacco or sugarcane?
Yes. The public configurators show a generic building, but in a custom build your models get loaded with their rules: walls for airflow, doors sized for harvest machinery, minimum heights. The engine generates the structure from those rules.
Can the grower use it from a phone at the farm?
Yes. The configurators work on phones and tablets, and the link opens the exact configuration. If it needs to work with no signal, it can be made installable so it saves quotes and syncs when the connection comes back.
Does it make sense for a small shop?
Yes. It actually shows most when the owner quotes everything. With the rules in the tool, a rep or a family member can quote without depending on him.
Do I need to travel for the project?
No. Everything happens over video calls, links and WhatsApp or email, and we're in the same time zone.
