What I learned building 3D quoting tools for manufacturers: how to sell made-to-order without depending on anyone, how to turn product rules into software, and what options are out there. By Facundo Campo.
A 3D configurator shows up in search when it lives on product pages with text that answers what people search for, when its configurations get shared by link, and when the website clearly says what the company builds, for whom and where.
Sending Instagram and Facebook ads to a 3D configurator, opened on the advertised product and ending in a message button, means inquiries arrive with sizes and options already picked instead of a name and a phone number with no context.
A 3D configurator lets an Irish agricultural shed manufacturer have farmers design a machinery shed, hay shed, slatted shed or stable block in 3D, share it with family and the advisor, and send an inquiry with the dimensions settled.
In the Dominican Republic, a 3D configurator helps a builder that sells industrial buildings, prefab vacation villas and homes for Dominicans living in the US: every buyer designs and sees the project in 3D before the quote.
A 3D configurator for Canadian builders lets buyers design their garage, cabin or steel building and see it in 3D, with roofs and heights planned around snow, in English or French depending on the province.
A 3D configurator lets a Costa Rican company that builds warehouses, prefab homes and vacation cabins show the project in 3D to buyers who often live in the US or Canada and decide without ever standing on the lot.
A 3D configurator lets a Panamanian company that builds farm sheds, warehouses and converted containers show each project in 3D, in English or Spanish, and get inquiries with sizes and options already defined.
A 3D configurator lets a Nordic cabin and prefab timber home manufacturer have families design their hytte, stuga or mökki in 3D, see it at night and on their plot, walk through it and send an inquiry with every choice made.
In Greater Buenos Aires, a 3D configurator lets a manufacturer of carports, canopies, quinchos or home additions show each homeowner what they're asking for in 3D, filter WhatsApp inquiries and quote on the spot with its own rules and prices.
When dealers, distributors and independent reps quote with the same 3D configurator as the manufacturer, each with their own login, everyone uses the same up-to-date price list, the same product rules and the same quote format, and the manufacturer sees what's being quoted in each territory.
A 3D dome and cabin configurator shows a Mexican hospitality entrepreneur their unit fully built, with deck, bathroom and finishes, by day and by night, so they can decide and bring in partners without having to picture the project.
A 3D configurator lets a UK maker of garden rooms, sheds, timber garages or stables have homeowners design their building in feet, see it in their garden, walk through it and send an inquiry with every option already chosen.
A 3D configurator for industrial buildings lets a buyer in Mexico design a nave or bodega in 3D, choosing span, length, height and roof sheeting, while the manufacturer quotes from that same configuration using its own rules.
A 3D configurator lets a Spanish manufacturer of industrial and agricultural buildings show each building in 3D with its frame, roof and walls, quote it with its own rules, and sell across the Iberian Peninsula without every inquiry going through the engineering office.
At an international or industry trade show, a 3D configurator lets you build a visitor's custom product right at the booth, in their language and units, share it by link and, if it's built for it, quote even with no signal.
A 3D metal building configurator lets a Bolivian steel building company show and quote custom buildings for both the farm country around Santa Cruz and the industrial highlands and valleys, with the options each climate calls for.
A 3D configurator lets a Brazilian manufacturer of steel buildings, precast buildings or prefab homes show each project in 3D, in Portuguese and in reais, and get quote requests with the configuration already built.
A 3D configurator lets a manufacturer in Entre Ríos, Argentina, quote poultry houses, canopies and homes with its own rules, show the farmer the building in 3D with its dimensions and walls, and answer without the owner working out every number by hand.
A 3D configurator for canopies and farm buildings lets a Paraguayan steel fabricator get WhatsApp inquiries with the structure already designed, from farmers in the Chaco or Alto Paraná, schools, or families wanting a quincho, and quote without visiting every site.
A 3D steel building configurator lets a Chilean manufacturer show and quote farm buildings and warehouses made to order, with the roof pitch, overhangs and walls that rain and wind in central and southern Chile call for.
A French-language 3D configurator lets a maker of timber frame homes, garden sheds or carports show every variation in 3D, get inquiries with the project already designed and sell without drawing each order.
A 3D configurator lets a Spanish manufacturer of timber homes, bungalows and garden sheds have homeowners, campsites and rural lodgings design their order in 3D, share it and get a quote calculated with the manufacturer's own rules and prices.
A 3D configurator lets a Colombian company that builds warehouses, metal roofs and kiosks show each customer their project in 3D and price it with its own rules, from a page that opens on any phone.
A 3D configurator lets a Peruvian manufacturer of steel buildings, warehouses, roof structures and modular units show a contractor or mining company exactly what they'll receive, configured in 3D, and quote it with its own rules without redrawing plans for every tender.
A contact form brings a name, a phone number and a loose message; a 3D configurator brings the configuration the buyer built, with sizes, options and an image. The difference is how much your sales rep knows before calling.
A PDF catalog shows fixed models with photos and sizes and is good for introducing a manufacturer; a 3D configurator lets the buyer build and see their own variant. For a made-to-order business, the catalog introduces and the configurator defines.
An online price calculator takes sizes and options and returns a number; a 3D configurator does the same math but also shows the product being quoted. 3D matters when the buyer doesn't understand what they're choosing or when mistakes are expensive.
In Ecuador, a 3D quoting tool helps the builder of structures for shrimp, banana and poultry farms and the prefab home manufacturer in the Andes: the customer sees the project in 3D and the company prices it with its own rules.
A 3D quoting tool lets a manufacturer in Argentina's Cuyo region show each customer the building, home or cabin they want in 3D, using the manufacturer's own building rules, and quote it without the owner working out every number by hand.
In Chaco, Corrientes and Misiones, a 3D quoting tool lets a manufacturer of farm buildings or wooden homes show each configuration in 3D, with porches, overhangs and airflow designed for heat and humidity, and quote it with its own rules without the owner working out every number.
A 3D quoting tool lets a manufacturer in northwest Argentina quote farm buildings and prefab homes with its own rules, show each configuration in 3D, and answer inquiries from Tucumán, Salta, Jujuy and neighboring provinces without the owner working out every number.
In Neuquén and Argentine Patagonia, a 3D quoting tool helps a manufacturer quote industrial buildings, site camps and homes with its own snow and wind rules, and send each company's purchasing team a configuration they can view and approve from a link.
In rural Buenos Aires province, a 3D quoting tool lets a steel fabricator or horse barn manufacturer quote storage buildings, machine sheds and stalls with its own rules, show them in 3D and answer farmers without the owner working out every number.
For a Central American manufacturer selling in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua, a 3D quoting tool puts the product, its rules and each country's prices, currency and freight in one place.
For a made-to-order manufacturer selling in several Latin American countries, a 3D quoting tool brings the product, its rules and everything that changes by market into one place: language, local terms, currency, freight and dealers.
In Uruguay, a manufacturer of farm buildings, horse stables or timber homes usually sells to the whole country from one plant; a 3D quoting tool lets it show and quote each custom order without the buyer traveling and without the owner quoting everything.
In Santa Fe's metalworking cluster, where many manufacturers make similar products, a 3D quoting tool helps a factory stand out: instant answers with the product in 3D, reps who quote with the same prices, and a shop that gets what was sold without reinterpreting it.
For a steel fabricator in Córdoba that builds metal buildings and open-sided sheds for farmers and small manufacturers, a 3D quoting tool lets the customer design the building on their phone and the sales rep quote out in the field without calling the owner.
Photos of finished projects prove a manufacturer can build and earn trust; a 3D model of what the buyer asked for shows them their exact product before they buy. In made-to-order sales you use both, at different moments.
A 3D configurator sells when it's one tap from the home page, opens preloaded on each product page and ends in a button that sends the finished configuration by WhatsApp or email, instead of hiding in a menu or ending in a generic contact form.
An agricultural building 3D configurator is a web tool where a farmer or sales rep designs a machine shed, storage building or open-sided shed around what it will hold, sees it in 3D with doors, side canopies and walls, and the manufacturer quotes it with their own rules.
AI and no-code tools can quickly produce a form with formulas or a quoting tool prototype; for made-to-order construction products, with building rules, 3D generated from those rules and prices that change, a custom build is usually the safer path.
An aircraft hangar 3D configurator is a web tool where the buyer sets the span, length, clear height and door of the hangar based on the aircraft it will house, sees it in 3D, and the steel building manufacturer receives an inquiry with everything defined and priced by their rules.
Augmented reality places a 3D model over the phone's camera view; a browser-based 3D configurator lets the buyer build the product, change it and walk through it. For large structures, the configurator is what helps the buyer decide.
When a quoting tool generates every part of the product from building rules, it can also count those parts. The bill of materials and cut list then come from what was sold, with the same dimensions, and the shop doesn't have to recalculate what the quote already worked out.
Calculating delivery inside the quote means freight is priced automatically from the distance between the factory and the job site, using the manufacturer's own rules, instead of being added by hand at the end or forgotten altogether.
A carport 3D quoting tool lets buyers design their carport —size, roof, attached or freestanding, colors— and see it in 3D, so the manufacturer can handle a high volume of small inquiries without losing hours on each one.
Choosing colors and materials in 3D, on the product the buyer just configured, cuts down on regrets and back-and-forth, because the buyer decides with the whole combination in view instead of a loose swatch or a printed color chart.
Controlling sales rep discounts isn't about banning them. It's about setting, inside the quoting tool, how far each rep can go, under what conditions and who approves the rest, so a discount becomes a closing tool instead of a silent loss.
A dome and glamping 3D configurator is a web tool where the buyer picks the unit type (dome, tent or cabin), size, openings, deck and interior, walks through it at eye level and sees it at night, and the manufacturer receives an inquiry with everything defined.
When a quoting tool generates the model from rules, the floor plan, views and spec sheet can all come from the same configuration the customer approved. That way there's no drawing on one side and a quote on the other that someone has to keep matching by hand.
A 3D configurator helps a manufacturer sell abroad because a buyer in another country can build the product, see it inside and out and share it with a partner or architect, without traveling to the factory or to a finished project.
The floor plan editor in the prefab home configurator lets you drag and resize rooms, add new rooms, add or remove doors and windows, move furniture, place the front door and build a second floor with stairs, with the result shown in 3D instantly.
Good quote follow-up combines a scheduled next contact for every quote, a concrete reason to reach out each time (a variation, an answered question, a price change) and material the buyer can forward, like a link to their configuration in 3D.
A garage, workshop and barndominium 3D configurator lets buyers set the size, doors, wall height and living space, and walk through it in 3D, so the builder gets inquiries where both the building and how it'll be used are already clear.
A garage and workshop 3D quoting tool is a web app where the buyer designs a small metal building (size, roll-up or sliding door, walk door, windows, lean-to and finishes), sees it in 3D and requests a quote based on that exact configuration.
A gate and door 3D configurator is a web tool where a customer or sales rep picks the opening type (up-and-over, sliding or swing), enters the opening size, chooses cladding, color and opener, sees it in 3D, and the manufacturer gets an inquiry with everything defined.
A US manufacturer can hire a 3D configurator developer in Argentina and work on nearly the same schedule, in English, with video calls and progress delivered as links to test in the browser.
A European manufacturer can work with a 3D configurator developer in Argentina because Argentine mornings overlap with European afternoons, the work happens in English or Spanish over video calls, and every step is approved through links you test in the browser.
A horse barn 3D configurator lets horse owners design their barn —number and size of stalls, layout, doors, walls and roof— and see it in 3D before asking for a quote; it's what Facundo Campo already built for EQUIBOX, a stable manufacturer in Argentina.
A horse stable 3D configurator lets a European stable manufacturer have horse owners, livery yards and studs design their stables in 3D and send an inquiry with layout, doors and fronts already chosen; it runs on the same engine as the EQUIBOX quoting tool.
The time it takes to build a 3D configurator depends on how many rules the product has, whether prices are shown or kept internal, how organized the manufacturer's information is, and how quickly the manufacturer tests and approves each delivery.
An indoor riding arena 3D configurator is a web tool where a horse owner, riding school or club designs a covered arena (width, length, height, walls, doors and stalls alongside), sees it in 3D and requests a quote based on that exact configuration, priced with the builder's own rules.
An industrial building 3D configurator is a web tool where the buying company or a sales rep sets the span, length, clear height, doors, walls and offices, sees the building in 3D, and the builder quotes it with their own rules from that same configuration.
A 3D quoting tool doesn't have to replace a manufacturer's ERP or business system. It can pass along what was sold (customer, configuration, price) so nothing gets entered twice. The integration is built to order, starting with whatever gets retyped by hand most often.
A configurator with private pricing lets the public build and view their product in 3D without seeing any prices, while prices, discounts and terms only appear when a sales rep logs in, as in the system built for EQUIBOX.
A log cabin 3D configurator is a web tool where the buyer picks the model, floor plan, loft, porch, windows and wood finishes, walks through the cabin at eye level, and the builder receives an inquiry with everything defined and priced by their own rules.
After a 3D configurator goes live, the manufacturer updates its own prices from a price table it manages, and only needs the developer for new building rules, new products and new features that come up with use.
A metal building 3D configurator lets a US steel building manufacturer or dealer have buyers design their building in feet, see it in 3D from every angle and send a quote request with width, length, height, doors and colors already chosen.
A modular home 3D configurator lets a Portuguese manufacturer sell to buyers who live in another European country: they design the home in 3D, walk through it and share it by link, in their own language.
A modular home and ADU 3D configurator lets buyers lay out their home room by room —bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, porch, finishes— and walk through it in 3D, so the manufacturer gets inquiries with a plan already thought through.
A modular office and site cabin 3D configurator is a web tool where a contractor or sales rep combines office, restroom, break room, locker room and storage units, picks the equipment, sees the layout in 3D, and the manufacturer quotes the sale or rental with their own rules.
A multilingual 3D configurator adapts text, units, standard sizes, currency and industry vocabulary to each buyer's country, so a manufacturer can sell abroad with one tool and one set of building rules.
Night mode in a 3D configurator shows the configured product after dark, with its lighting, so buyers can picture how they'll actually use it; at EQUIBOX it was also exaggerated on purpose so it reads on a tablet in a sunny show booth.
New sales reps are slow to quote correctly because the product rules live in other people's heads. When those rules are built into the quoting tool, a new rep produces accurate quotes from the start, and training can focus on what actually needs a person: understanding the customer and selling.
A pole barn 3D configurator lets buyers design a post-frame building —size, overhangs, doors, wainscot and colors— and see it in 3D, so the builder gets inquiries with the configuration already defined.
A poultry and livestock building 3D configurator is a web tool where a producer or sales rep sets a barn's length, width, sidewalls, insulation and add-ons, sees it in 3D, and the manufacturer quotes it with their own rules instead of redoing the math by hand.
A precast concrete home 3D configurator is a web tool where the buyer lays out their house within the manufacturer's panel grid, picks the roof, finishes and outdoor features, sees the finished house on a lot, and the manufacturer quotes it with their own rules.
A 3D prefab home configurator lets a Mexican manufacturer sell to families who are far from the lot, in another state or in the United States, because they design the house in 3D, walk through it and share it by link.
A prefab home 3D configurator lets a Chilean manufacturer show each model in 3D, separate what the basic kit includes from what the finished packages add, and sell to buyers across the country without them traveling to the plant.
A prefab home 3D configurator lets a Colombian manufacturer sell to buyers from Bogotá, Medellín or Cali building on a finca or a country lot, and to Colombians living abroad, because they design the house, adapt it to the local climate and walk through it before asking for a price.
In Germany, Austria and Switzerland buyers are used to configuring things online; a German-language 3D configurator lets a Fertighaus, garden house or carport manufacturer give them that level of detail and get precise inquiries.
An Italian-language 3D configurator helps a maker of timber prefab homes or steel capannoni let buyers design their project in 3D, so inquiries arrive with dimensions and options the buyer's technician can actually use.
A 3D configurator lets a Spanish manufacturer of precast concrete or modular homes have buyers design their home room by room, see it in 3D with their finishes and share it, while the quote comes from the manufacturer's own rules and prices.
Before hiring someone to build your 3D configurator or quoting tool, ask what they have running that you can try, how they'll turn your product rules into the system, who manages prices, who owns what gets built and what happens after launch.
With custom products, buyers usually ask several manufacturers for a price at once, and the first one to answer with something concrete (sizes, an image and a price) sets the benchmark the others get compared against. Responding fast without mistakes depends on quoting not needing the owner.
A quoting tool with payment plans calculates, alongside the total, the down payment and installments based on the plans the manufacturer sets, and puts them on the same quote, so reps don't do the math separately and buyers see what they'll pay each month.
A quoting tool can calculate the price in one base currency and display it in another using an exchange rate the manufacturer sets, with a clear expiry date. The same configuration can then be quoted in dollars, pesos or the buyer's local currency without rebuilding the quote.
To sell a made-to-order product remotely, a buyer who'll never set foot in your plant needs to see exactly what they're buying, understand what the price includes with delivery, and have a clear way to talk and sign off; a 3D configurator with a shareable link handles a big part of that.
Sharing a configuration by link creates a URL that opens exactly the product the customer built, with its dimensions and options, so the sales rep, family or business partner can see it without anyone describing it or rebuilding it.
In the US, sheds, carports and metal garages are largely sold through dealer networks; a custom 3D configurator gives the dealer and the online buyer the same tool, with the same rules and a configuration that can be shared by link.
A 3D configurator for builders in Australia and New Zealand lets buyers design their shed, patio, carport or granny flat and see it in 3D, using local terms and metric sizes, so the enquiry arrives with the structure already defined.
A swimming pool 3D configurator lets buyers choose the model, size, finish, coping and deck, and see the pool in 3D inside a yard built to their own measurements, so the builder gets inquiries with both the pool and the space already defined.
A tiny house 3D configurator is a web tool where the buyer chooses wheels or a foundation, the length, the loft, the stairs, the kitchen, the bathroom, the windows and the finishes, walks through it in 3D, and the builder receives an inquiry with everything defined.
The walk mode in a 3D configurator lets the buyer move through the product they just designed at eye level, so they understand scale, spaces and access before requesting a quote.
Every configuration a customer builds in a 3D quoting tool is a data point about what the market wants: sizes, options and combinations. Put in order, those configurations show a manufacturer what to standardize, what to keep in stock and which options are dead weight.
When the owner is the only one who knows how to quote, every quote waits for their free time and the company sells at the pace of one person. The way out is turning the owner's judgment into rules a quoting tool applies, so the team quotes like the owner does and the owner reviews instead of calculating.
Before commissioning a 3D configurator, put in writing whose name the domain and hosting are under, who owns the customer data and the price table, and what happens to all of it if the relationship with the developer ends.
When a buyer goes silent after a quote, it's often not the price: they didn't fully understand what was quoted, can't show it to whoever decides with them, or compared it to a quote that wasn't equivalent. Seeing what they asked for in 3D tackles all three.
Configurator plugins for online stores like WooCommerce and Shopify are built for products sold through a cart with fixed options; made-to-order construction products, with open-ended sizes, interacting rules and rep-led sales, usually need a custom-built configurator.
A 3D quoting tool is a web application where a customer or sales rep configures a made-to-order product, sees it in 3D while choosing options, and gets a price calculated from that same configuration using the manufacturer's rules and price table.
A 3D configurator lets you build and view a product in 3D; a 3D quoting tool adds price calculation based on that configuration; a quote builder produces the sales document with price, terms and validity. A manufacturer that builds to order usually needs all three connected.
A custom 3D quoting tool has no list price: the cost depends on how many products and variants the manufacturer has, how many building rules need to be modeled, how the price is calculated and which integrations are added, such as PDF quotes, CRM, shipping, financing or offline mode.
To order a 3D quoting tool, a manufacturer needs its catalog with sizes and options, the rules for what can be combined, the way it calculates prices today, examples of real quotes, and one person who can sign off on technical and commercial decisions.
Building a custom 3D quoting tool moves through four stages: gathering the catalog and rules, a first interactive 3D model for the manufacturer to review, adding the pricing logic and integrations, and launch with the manufacturer managing its own prices.
An offline 3D quoting tool is an installable app that lets you configure the product, see it in 3D and save quotes on the device even with no signal, then syncs them with the central system when the connection returns, without duplicating contacts.
A 3D quoting tool has to work on a phone because that's where a custom manufacturer's buyer makes the inquiry, receives the link over WhatsApp and shares the configuration with family or a partner; making that work requires a lightweight 3D engine that runs in the browser with nothing to install.
Parametric rendering generates the 3D model from dimensions and building rules instead of using hand-drawn models; that's why a single engine can show any combination of a made-to-order product, such as a metal building of any span, length and roof pitch, without anyone modeling each variant.
To quote when prices change every month, a manufacturer needs its own price table kept separate from the calculation logic: you update a value once and every new quote uses it, while quotes already sent keep the price list version they were built with.
A sales team is autonomous when every rep can put together a correct quote without checking with the owner, because the product rules and prices are already built into the tool they quote with.
The costliest quoting mistakes at a manufacturer that sells custom products are missed items, outdated prices, combinations that can't be built, misread dimensions and mixed-up spreadsheet versions; almost all of them go away when the quote comes from rules instead of memory.
Turning the owner's know-how into building rules means writing down which dimensions, options and combinations a product allows and which parts result from each choice, so software can quote and draw custom products without the owner stepping in every time.
When a quoting tool saves the sale as a data configuration (dimensions, options and applied rules), that same configuration can generate the bill of materials and the work order, so the shop receives exactly what was sold.
Digitizing a construction company doesn't mean buying lots of systems or building an in-house development team: it means moving into software the few processes that depend on one person today, starting with quoting, with an outside developer and the manufacturer in charge of the content.
Innovating in a construction company's sales starts with tracing the real path of an inquiry, finding where it stalls or gets lost, and changing that point first; at manufacturers that sell custom products, it's usually the time between the customer's question and the quote.
For quoting construction products, a template or off-the-shelf tool is enough when the product has few options and per-item prices; custom software pays off when price and shape depend on building rules, free dimensions and combinations a template can't represent.
Giving the quote in the same meeting lets you discuss the product and the price with the customer present, instead of sending it days later after they have already compared other offers. To do it without mistakes, the price has to come from rules loaded into a quoting tool, not from the owner's head.
A 3D quoting tool for sales reps is the version of the configurator the sales team uses: it shows the product in 3D, calculates the price when a rep is logged in, and produces the quote on the spot, at the factory or in the field.
A qualified lead is one that arrives with enough information to quote: dimensions, options and location. A public 3D quoting tool gets the customer to configure their product before reaching out, so the manufacturer receives a configuration instead of a bare "price?".
A 3D quoting tool doesn't replace WhatsApp: it gives it content. The customer builds their product, the quote request arrives on WhatsApp with the configuration, and the sales rep replies with a link that opens exactly that product in 3D.
At an agricultural show, a 3D quoting tool has to work with no signal, be readable on a tablet in direct sun and save every quote to sync later. Done right, the booth stops collecting handed-out brochures and starts collecting finished quotes.
An automatic PDF quote is generated from the same configuration that was priced: it takes the dimensions, the options, the price and the views of the 3D render, with no one copying data by hand. The customer receives a document that shows exactly what they chose.
A CRM for a manufacturer that builds to order records every quote with its configuration, its stage and its next follow-up date, and tracks payments after the sale. Connected to the quoting tool, it fills itself in with what the sales rep already did while quoting.
A metal building 3D quoting tool lets the buyer set span, length, eave height, roof pitch, frame type, cladding and openings, see the building assembled in 3D, and receive a quote calculated with the fabricator's own rules and prices.
A prefab home 3D quoting tool builds the house by adding catalog rooms (bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, living room, laundry room, second floor), shows it in 3D instantly and calculates the quote as a sum of line items, which is how a prefab home company actually sells.
A 3D quoting tool for steel frame and modular homes builds the house from the modules and panels the company manufactures, shows it in 3D and calculates the price from the chosen wall assembly, roof and finishes; it is custom-built on the same engine as the prefab home configurator.
A horse stall 3D quoting tool lets the buyer choose the number and size of stalls, layout, walls, doors, tack rooms and canopy, see the barn in 3D and request a quote with that configuration; EQUIBOX, a manufacturer in Berazategui, Argentina, uses one in production with pricing, PDF quotes and offline mode.
A 3D quoting tool for quinchos, pergolas and carports lets the buyer choose dimensions, wood or metal structure, roofing type, barbecue grill and enclosures, shows the covered structure in 3D and calculates the price with the builder's rules; it is custom-built on the engine that already handles structure and roofing in the metal building configurator.
A container and modular unit 3D quoting tool lets the buyer choose module size, use, interior layout, openings, insulation, cladding and fit-out, shows it in 3D and calculates the price including freight and installation, according to each manufacturer's rules.
EQUIBOX, a manufacturer of horse stalls and modular horse barns in Berazategui, Buenos Aires, Argentina, uses a public 3D quoting tool and a sales panel with CRM built by Facundo Campo. Buyers design their barn in 3D, and sales reps quote with prices, shipping and financing, even with no signal.
The EQUIBOX 3D quoting tool was designed for where the selling happens: sunny booths, an iPad, agricultural shows with no signal. That's why it has an offline queue that never duplicates contacts, a lighter 3D for tablets, a deliberately exaggerated night mode and a PDF built from the same rendering the customer saw.
Facundo Campo is a software developer from Quilmes, Buenos Aires, Argentina, who builds custom software for small and mid-sized businesses and specializes in 3D quoting tools and 3D configurators for manufacturers (Estructuras 3D) and in 3D renderings and walkthroughs for builders (Recorrido 3D). He built the 3D quoting tool and sales system for EQUIBOX.
Facundo Campo builds 3D quoting tools working directly with the manufacturer: he starts from the catalog, dimensions and assembly rules, delivers a first interactive model at a private URL, adds pricing and integrations, and launches the quoting tool with SEO on the company's website.
A construction company that builds to order has four ways to show and quote its product: a subscription 3D configurator platform, outsourced renders, Excel plus drawings, or a 3D quoting tool built on the rules of its own product, like the ones Facundo Campo develops with Estructuras 3D.
Subscription 3D configurator platforms such as Zakeke, Kickflip, Mimeeq, Roomle or Expivi fit brands that sell products with variants on existing 3D models through e-commerce; custom development fits better when the product is a structure whose dimensions change continuously and whose geometry and price come from its own building rules.
In the US, online 3D designers for metal buildings are an established practice (General Steel, Mueller, Worldwide Steel Buildings, Armstrong Steel, Carport Central), while in Argentina what you find are quoting tools with an estimated price and no 3D, pre-sizing tools and quote request forms.
In Argentina, prefab and modular home companies quote online in three ways: per-square-meter price estimators (like qBox's), floor plan configurators without prices (like AlmaMod's Cubicador) and forms handled by advisors (like Zimenta or Habitar Modular). A block-based 3D configurator adds the ability to see the home with its rooms take shape while you choose.
CPQ software (Salesforce Revenue Cloud, Tacton, Configit, Threekit) is designed for mid-size and large manufacturers with a sales force, a corporate ERP or CRM and thousands of rules; for a small construction company without that structure, which quotes with spreadsheets or WhatsApp and wants customers to see their structure in 3D with a reference price, a custom 3D quoting tool with a focused scope is usually a better fit.
Excel calculates the price but the customer never sees it, SketchUp can draw any project but a technician has to use it, and an outsourced render gives the best image but it's fixed; a 3D quoting tool brings the price and the image of every variant together in one tool that both the sales rep and the customer can use.
An Argentine manufacturer that wants a 3D configurator has three paths: a local studio that builds custom 3D experiences (such as Corsteno or Nascor), an international platform paid monthly (such as Zakeke, Mimeeq or Roomle), or a developer specialized in construction quoting tools, like Facundo Campo with Estructuras 3D. The choice depends on the product, the budget and who will maintain the tool.
The Estructuras 3D metal building configurator lets you choose span, length, eave height, roof pitch, frame type, cladding, openings and floor, and see the building in 3D instantly in the browser, with nothing to install.
The Estructuras 3D prefab home configurator builds the house by adding catalog rooms, with an optional second floor, cladding, porch, pool and fence, and regenerates it instantly in the browser.
The Estructuras 3D horse stable configurator builds a barn of wooden horse stalls by choosing the number, size, layout, walls, doors and covering roof, using the geometry of EQUIBOX's real 3D quoting tool.
