3D Quoting Tool for Manufacturers in Buenos Aires Province

In short: In rural Buenos Aires province, a 3D quoting tool lets a steel fabricator or horse barn manufacturer quote storage buildings, machine sheds and stalls with its own rules, show them in 3D and answer farmers without the owner working out every number.

A 3D quoting tool for a manufacturer in rural Buenos Aires province is a web app where the farmer or the sales rep builds the metal building, canopy or horse barn, sees it in 3D while choosing, and gets a quote calculated with the manufacturer's rules. In Argentina's biggest farming region, where every grower has more machinery than room to store it, it's how you answer fast, and accurately, an inquiry that's always a little different.

Farm country and its buildings

From Pergamino and Junín to Trenque Lauquen, Bolívar or Tres Arroyos, the typical request at a rural steel shop repeats with variations:

  • Machine sheds. The combine, the tractor, the planter, the self-propelled sprayer. What defines the building isn't the floor area but the door: wide and tall enough for the biggest machine, with an eave height to match.
  • Storage buildings. Agrochemicals, seed, fertilizer, bags. Enclosed, with good truck access.
  • Canopies. For cattle, feedlots, hay bales or round bales.
  • Buildings for custom harvesters. Contractors who harvest for other farms need a shop, storage and room for several machines, and want it all under one roof.

The farmer who calls knows exactly what needs to go inside. What they don't always know is what dimensions to ask for. That's where 3D helps: they see the door open, the height, and picture the combine rolling in.

An example: a contractor's building in 9 de Julio

A custom harvester sends a WhatsApp message: he needs a 20 × 40 m enclosed building, a big front door for the combine with its header, a walk door and a shop area. Today the steel shop's owner asks for dimensions by voice note, sketches it and sends a quote when he can, which during harvest is too late.

With a 3D quoting tool, the rep enters width, length and eave height, picks the frame, puts the door on the front at the width and height needed, adds the walk door and chooses the sheeting color. He sends the link to the contractor, who opens it on his phone in the combine cab, walks through it at eye level and forwards it to his brother. If he asks to raise the door half a meter, it changes in the configuration and the quote updates.

You can try it in the metal building configurator: door width and height, a door that opens, side canopy, cladding, colored sheeting finishes, exposed brick with pilasters and walk-through mode. It doesn't show prices: pricing is part of each manufacturer's build. For the farm product in detail, see agricultural building 3D configurator.

Horse barns: the province's other big product

Buenos Aires province has a huge horse tradition: stud farms, polo clubs, riding centers, breeders, and people with two or three horses on a small farm. Around Cañuelas, Lobos, San Antonio de Areco, Exaltación de la Cruz or Chascomús, and many other places, there's steady demand for stalls and stables.

That's the industry of the only client I name: EQUIBOX, a manufacturer of horse stalls and modular stables in Berazategui. For EQUIBOX I built the whole system: a public 3D quoting tool where the buyer builds their stable in a 7-step wizard, sees it with real wood textures and requests a quote over WhatsApp with the configuration; and a sales dashboard with prices visible only to reps, per-kilometer delivery, installments, coupons and a CRM. It also works offline, because it's used at agricultural shows. The case is in the EQUIBOX case study.

The site has a horse stall configurator that uses the geometry of the EQUIBOX quoting tool: continuous, center-aisle, facing or single-stall layouts; standard or V doors, hinged or sliding; wood or barred walls; a wraparound canopy with concrete, wood or rubber flooring, and a countryside scene with horses.

Selling at the town show

In rural Buenos Aires a lot of selling happens at each town's agricultural show: the big one in Palermo, but also the shows in Junín, Azul, Tandil, Coronel Suárez and many others. The booth has sun, crowds, weak signal and a rep who has to quote without calling the plant.

That's why the EQUIBOX system has a deliberately exaggerated night mode (it reads well on a screen in the sun), runs smoothly on an iPad and saves quotes on the device when there's no signal, syncing them when the connection comes back. I cover it in selling at agricultural shows and offline 3D quoting tool.

What changes at the plant

For a small-town steel shop where the owner answers the phone, quotes, buys the steel and runs the floor, a quoting tool takes the biggest time sinks off his plate:

  1. Inquiries arrive with the configuration built, not as "how much for a building?"
  2. The rep, or the son joining the business, quotes with the owner's rules loaded in the tool.
  3. Prices get updated in a table the manufacturer controls.
  4. Production gets the exact dimensions of what was sold.

I wrote about this in when the owner quotes everything.

Working with me

I'm Facundo Campo, a software developer based in Quilmes, in the same province. I focus on 3D quoting tools and configurators for manufacturers, and I work remotely: a video call to start, you send me your catalog, photos of past jobs and sample quotes, and I send you links to try each step in the browser.

If you run a steel shop or a horse barn manufacturer in rural Buenos Aires province, message me on WhatsApp at +54 9 11 6193-3176 or email facundocampo100@gmail.com. I answer in English and Spanish. Or see how custom 3D quoting software works.

Frequently asked questions

Can I size the door to fit the machine?

Yes. The public configurator already lets you set door width and height. In a custom build your rules can be loaded too, for example raising the eave height automatically when the door needs it.

Is the horse barn configurator the same one EQUIBOX uses?

The stall configurator on this site uses the geometry of the EQUIBOX quoting tool. The EQUIBOX system belongs to EQUIBOX; for another manufacturer, it gets built on the same engine with their own models, rules and prices.

Does it work at a show with no signal?

It can be made installable so it works offline: quotes stay on the device and sync when the signal returns, as with EQUIBOX.

Do you need to visit the plant?

No. I work remotely, over video calls, links to try, WhatsApp and email.
