Hiring a Remote 3D Configurator Developer from Europe
By Facundo Campo, 3D quoting tool developer
In short: A European manufacturer can work with a 3D configurator developer in Argentina because Argentine mornings overlap with European afternoons, the work happens in English or Spanish over video calls, and every step is approved through links you test in the browser.
Hiring a 3D configurator developer in Argentina from Europe works like this: Argentine mornings line up with European afternoons, we talk in English or Spanish over video calls, you send your catalog and sample quotes, and every bit of progress arrives as a link you test in your browser. Nobody needs to travel or install anything. What you do need is clear communication, and that's what this article is about.
Why a European manufacturer would look to Argentina
If you run a timber home company in Austria, a steel building fabricator in northern Italy, a stable maker in the Netherlands or a garden room business in England, you've probably looked at configurator platforms and agencies in your own country. Platforms handle a lot of catalog products well, and local agencies work with their own teams and processes. See 3D configurator platforms vs custom.
A specialized remote developer offers something else: you talk directly to the person who designs and builds everything, who knows the construction trade, and your configurator is built with your product's rules on an engine that already exists. That's what I do. I'm Facundo Campo, and I work from Quilmes, Buenos Aires.
Time zones: how much we really overlap
Argentina is on UTC−3 all year (no daylight saving). Europe does change its clocks, so the gap shifts a little:
- Portugal, the UK and Ireland: three hours ahead in winter, four in summer.
- Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic countries: four hours ahead in winter, five in summer.
- Finland and Greece: one hour more than that.
In practice, my morning is your afternoon. If I start at 9 in Buenos Aires, it's 1 or 2 p.m. in Madrid. That leaves several hours a day for video calls, messages answered on the spot and testing together. And whatever you ask for at the end of your day, I work on during my afternoon: often, when you open your laptop the next morning, there's a new link waiting for you to try.
Language
I work in English and Spanish. With a Spanish company we talk in Spanish; with one in Germany, the Netherlands or Scandinavia, in English, which is usually the sales team's common language anyway.
The configurator itself runs in your buyers' language: German, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese or whatever you need, with your currency and units. The site and public configurators already run in Spanish and English; other languages are added as part of the custom build, and someone on your team checks the technical wording, because nobody knows better than you how your customers talk. See multilingual 3D configurator.
How the work runs, step by step
- First video call. You show me what you sell, how you quote today and where sales get stuck.
- You send me material. Catalog, photos of finished projects, plans or sections of your models, the spreadsheet you price with and a few real sample quotes. That's how I learn the rules: which combinations exist, which don't, what depends on what.
- A first link. Your product in 3D in the browser, with the main options. You open it on a computer, tablet or phone, and show it to your team.
- You approve it in stages. Each step arrives as a link; you send feedback by message, email or video call, about something you can actually click on.
- Going live. The configurator goes on your website or a subdomain, in the languages we agreed on.
Each stage is covered in how a 3D quoting tool is built and how I work with manufacturers.
What you can try before the first call
You don't have to take my word for it: there are three free public configurators built on the same engine, in English and Spanish.
- Metal buildings: steel structure with dimensions, frames, roofs, walls, a door that opens and a side canopy.
- Prefab homes: a home on a lot, with floor plan editor, upper floor with stairs, cladding, porch and pool.
- Horse stables: stables with layout, doors, walls and canopy.
All three have walk-through mode, night view, layers, views, image download and share, and work on phones. They don't show prices; pricing is part of each manufacturer's custom build. If your product isn't one of those three —gates, cabins, carports, domes— the engine generates structures from rules and your product is built on top of it.
The case you can look at
The system I have in production is EQUIBOX, a horse stable manufacturer in Berazategui, Argentina: public 3D quoting tool, sales dashboard with prices only for reps, PDF quotes with the render, CRM, and an app that works offline at agricultural shows. It's in the EQUIBOX case study. You can look at that system and try the configurators on this site before we talk.
What to agree on at the start
- Who checks the wording in each language and who signs off on each stage at your company.
- What happens with prices: whether they show on the website or only for your sales reps. See how much a 3D quoting tool costs for what drives the cost of the build, which is quoted per project.
- What customer data the configurator stores. Data protection in Europe has its own rules; define that with your advisor from day one.
If you'd like to talk it through, message me on WhatsApp at +54 9 11 6193-3176 or email facundocampo100@gmail.com. I answer in English and Spanish.
Frequently asked questions
How many working hours do we share each day?
It depends on the country and the season: Europe is three to six hours ahead of Argentina. My morning overlaps with your afternoon, which leaves several hours for video calls and testing together.
What language do we work in?
English or Spanish. The configurator can run in your buyers' language, with their currency and units, as part of the custom build.
How do I approve the work if we're not in the same place?
Every step arrives as a link that opens in the browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. You test it with your team and send me feedback.
Will anyone need to travel?
No. Everything happens over video calls, messages and links. You send your product material by email or in a shared folder.
