3D Configurator for Domes, Cabins and Glamping Builders in Mexico

Face brick, a gable metal roof and a porch: a three-bedroom home put together room by room.

In short: A 3D dome and cabin configurator shows a Mexican hospitality entrepreneur their unit fully built, with deck, bathroom and finishes, by day and by night, so they can decide and bring in partners without having to picture the project.

A 3D configurator for domes, cabins and glamping structures is a web tool where the buyer picks the model, size, deck, bathroom and finishes, and sees the unit in 3D while the manufacturer calculates the quote with its own rules. In Mexico, where the buyer is usually a hospitality entrepreneur putting together their first project, the 3D view solves the hardest part of this sale: getting the customer to picture what the place will look like.

Who buys a dome in Mexico

The person buying a geodesic dome or a glamping cabin isn't a contractor. It's a couple who inherited a lot with a view in Valle de Bravo, a group of friends opening a small stay in the Huasteca Potosina, a winery in Valle de Guadalupe adding rooms, or someone who spots an opportunity near one of the country's Pueblos Mágicos. They've almost never bought a structure before.

They don't ask about dome diameter or strut sections. They ask different things: will a king bed and a bathroom fit inside? What does it look like at night? How many units fit on my land? How much deck do I need for a terrace? And they often have to convince a partner or a relative who's putting in part of the money.

Why this sale needs 3D more than most

With a steel building, the buyer knows what they want and argues about dimensions. With glamping, you're selling an experience, and the customer has to see it before paying. Today that gets handled with photos of other people's projects, which are never their land or their combination, or with custom renders that take time and cost money every time the customer changes their mind.

With a 3D configurator, the buyer puts their unit together:

  1. Pick the model: dome, A-frame, gable cabin, module.
  2. Set the size and the interior layout: bed, bathroom, kitchenette.
  3. Add the deck, terrace, outdoor hot tub or pergola, if you offer them.
  4. Choose finishes: canvas, glass, wood, colors.
  5. Look at it from outside, walk through it inside and see it at night.

Then they share the link with their partner. For a product sold on experience, that changes the whole conversation.

Night as a selling point

The photo that gets a dome booked is almost always taken at night: the structure glowing from inside, the sky above. All three configurators on this site have a night view with lighting and a walk-through mode at eye level. For a glamping entrepreneur, seeing their dome at night and standing inside it is more convincing than any spec sheet. I wrote more about this in night mode in a 3D configurator.

Domes and cabins: what exists today and what gets built

Let me be clear: there's no public dome or cabin configurator on this site. What there is, is an engine that generates structures from rules —frames, purlins, walls, modules— instead of modeling every variant by hand. A geodesic dome is exactly that kind of structure: frequency, diameter, triangulation. A cabin too: width, length, roof pitch, openings. So your product gets built on that engine, with your models and your options.

To try something close today:

  • The prefab home configurator shows how an interior comes together room by room, with real bathroom and kitchen furniture, wood and stone cladding, a porch and a pool.
  • The metal building configurator shows how a steel structure changes with its dimensions, curved roof included.

Product-specific details are in dome and glamping 3D configurator and log cabin 3D configurator.

What the dome and cabin manufacturer gets

  • Less time explaining the same thing. The customer sees what fits inside and what each model includes without an hour-long call.
  • Projects with more units. Once someone sees one unit built, it's natural to ask about two or three. The configurator can repeat the unit with a different variant.
  • Serious inquiries. Someone who shows up with their dome configured, deck and all, has already thought the project through. More in qualified leads with a 3D quoting tool.
  • Something to show partners and the bank. A downloaded image or a shared link helps explain the project to whoever is putting up the money.
  • Only combinations you can build. If a bathroom doesn't fit in a dome of a certain diameter, the configurator won't let anyone pick it.

Climate and land: what the buyer asks

On the Quintana Roo coast they ask about heat, humidity and hurricanes. In the Oaxaca or Chiapas highlands, about rain and cold nights. In Baja California, about sun and wind. The configurator doesn't settle technical or code questions —those go to a local professional and to what your company already knows— but it can show the options you offer for each case: ventilation, double canvas, insulation, overhangs. Seeing the option helps the customer understand why they need it.

How we work remotely

I'm Facundo Campo, a software developer in Quilmes, Buenos Aires, Argentina. I design and build 3D quoting tools and configurators for companies that sell made to order, and I work remotely. Mexico is only a few hours behind Argentina (UTC−3), so our workdays overlap almost completely.

To get started, you send me your catalog, photos of finished units (especially at night), the dimensions of each model and the rules for what can be combined. With two or three real quotes, the math matches what you do today. Each update arrives as a link to test on your phone, and we talk over WhatsApp, email or video calls. If your guests or buyers are from abroad, the configurator can run in Spanish and English, in whatever currency you quote in: that's set up during the build.

If you build domes, cabins or glamping structures in Mexico and want your customers to see their project before they buy, message me on WhatsApp at +54 9 11 6193-3176 or email facundocampo100@gmail.com. I answer in English and Spanish. More about the service in custom 3D quoting software.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a dome configurator I can try right now?

Not among the public ones on this site. There are three: metal buildings, prefab homes and horse stables. A dome configurator gets built to order on the same engine, which generates structures from rules like frequency and diameter.

Can the customer see the dome at night?

Yes. The configurators have a night view with lighting and a walk-through mode. A dome project includes both.

Can it show several units on the same property?

That can be built to order, depending on how you sell: one unit with its options, or a set of units. It's defined when we scope the project.

Does it work for English-speaking customers?

Yes. Language and currency are set up during the build. The site and the configurators already run in Spanish and English.
